I continue to serve on several review boards of art education journals, and as a reviewer of promotion and tenure dossiers for faculty across several countries.
My research is published in several journals and scholarly books, and I have presented widely at professional conferences and symposia in the US and abroad. Thus far, I have co-edited two academic anthologies and am currently working on a third manuscript.
A bit more..
As an arts educator, my focus is on studying and facilitating how different communities can create, interpret, and express culture through art, in order to navigate social and cultural differences.
I offer guidance on designing and conducting arts workshops and training sessions, and discuss topics like visual literacy's significance in society and education.
Additionally, I explore creative thinking across different aspects of life and profession, study international models of arts in education, create arts-based programs and curricula for various educational settings, and lead community-oriented arts initiatives and research.
I advocate for social and cultural justice and decolonization strategies in arts education, by examining the impacts of migration and colonization across global contexts.
I acknowledge and honor my cultural foundations in South Asian art and visual culture by applying them in traditional and contemporary contexts.
